    Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Sauté onion 3 min until translucent, add garlic and cumin for 30 sec.

    Add rinsed rice and toast, stirring, for 2 min until lightly golden and fragrant.

    Pour in broth, add bay leaf, season with salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low, cover tightly.

    Cook 18 min without lifting the lid. Remove from heat and let steam 5 min.

    Fluff with a fork, discard bay leaf, garnish with fresh parsley.
