4 black tea bags (Luzianne or Lipton)

1 cup sugar

8 cups water

Ice cubes

Lemon slices (optional)

Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. Remove from heat.

Add tea bags and steep exactly 5 min (longer = bitter). Remove bags without squeezing.

Stir in sugar while the tea is still hot until fully dissolved.

Add remaining 4 cups cold water. Refrigerate until ice-cold.

Serve in tall glasses packed with ice. Garnish with lemon slices.
